JAPAN CUTS FILM FESTIVAL 2026
AGENCY: THOUGHT MATTER
ROLE: SENIOR GRAPHIC DESIGNER/ART DIRECTION
Japan Cuts is North America’s largest Japanese film festival, hosted annually by the Japan Society in New York City. The week-long summer event features 30+ curated films, including major award-winners, indie darlings, documentaries, anime, and more.
As Senior Designer, I collaborated with the team on concepting, art direction, and final delivery of the event’s visual identity — leading the design of print and digital assets used throughout the festival. The look and feel drew inspiration from vintage movie posters and cinematic projection rays, paired with a warm color palette celebrating NYC summers.
